Minimal photographs of streets with very strong graphic compositions and amazing colors by Geneva-based graphic designer in architecture and photographer Patrice Collaud.
Tell us a little about your background – what path led you to becoming a photographer, and to doing what you’re doing today?

I started photography as a teenager already by traveling the city with an Olympus OM-1 camera and developing my black-and-white prints. I also worked in a photographic studio in Geneva

How would you describe your work?

I research the history in the city through the urban and architectural layers. To bring out the joints and volumes linked to aesthetics and the colors to form a timeless picture

Can you tell us a bit more about your process?

Lots of walking and passing. Nothing is prepared. Sometimes you are lucky !

Which camera and lenses do you use?

For this work I use an Olympus digital camera and sometimes an iphone for other renderings

What defines a good picture for you?

in a good photo there is mystery, emotion and several senses !
